Taicang Port's auto exports from January to July surged 58.78 percent year-on-year to 435,700, surpassing 400,000 four months earlier than in 2024.

In the first seven months of this year, the Haitong Taicang Auto Terminal handled 366,000 vehicle exports at Taicang Port, solidifying its role as the largest automobile roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) terminal in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Since its opening last year, the terminal has become a preferred departure point for major domestic automakers.

In April, BYD Shenzhen, the world's largest car carrier, embarked on its maiden voyage from Taicang. In May, "JISU FORTUNE",  the first ro-ro ship of Jisu Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Geely Auto, set sail, followed by the export of pure electric mining trucks for a central enterprise-backed African project in July.

With low-cost Yangtze River shipping, efficient rail services, and flexible road transport, Taicang has built an integrated "river–sea–inland, rail–road–water" network.

During the Jan-July period, Taicang Port exported 101,000 automobiles via rail-sea, 288,000 via road-sea, and 46,700 via river-sea, making up 23.2 percent, 66.1 percent, and 10.7 percent of the total, respectively.
