The Bundesliga Taicang Strategic Cooperation and Bundesliga Yangtze River Delta (YRD) Center Signing Ceremony took place in Taicang on Aug 1.

Building on this milestone, Taicang will forge partnerships with the German Football League (DFL) and Bundesliga International, securing authorization to utilize DEL's brand image and intellectual property. The city will launch the Bundesliga YRD Center, designed to organize Bundesliga soccer matches across the delta. This initiative is expected to further boost Taicang's appeal as the "home of German enterprises".

Football has long served as a vital cultural bridge between China and Germany in Taicang. Since 2022, FC Bayern Munich has developed multifaceted collaborations with the city, including carrying out youth training programs to nurture local football talent and opening an exhibition and experience center to promote football culture. Taicang also hosts "Sino-German Friendship Cup" football tournaments annually, which have deepened cultural and sports exchanges between the two nations.
