Created in partnership by Taicang and Suzhou, the center serves as the first standardization innovation platform established by a local government in Jiangsu province. Through close collaboration with top German standardization institutions, such as DIN and DKE, which contribute to information-sharing and technical regulations, it will assist enterprises in Suzhou in shaping global standards.
Following the successful standard transformation efforts of the Sino-German Standardization Cooperation Innovation Center in Suzhou, which began operations in Taicang in 2023, the official inauguration of the center in Frankfurt marks Taicang's increased institutional openness in standardization and advancements in strengthening China-German cooperation in economic, trade, and standardization.
More than 30 guests from China and Germany attended the center's unveiling ceremony, including Florian Spiteller, head of External Relations and Support at DKE. He noted in his speech that the standards of the International Electrical Commission (IEC) are pivotal to the green and sustainable transformation. He highlighted DKE's commitment to carbon neutrality and digital connectivity by strengthening standardization cooperation with Taicang, contributing to the building of an all-electric and connected society.
Taicang's over three-decade cooperation with Germany has attracted more than 550 German-invested businesses to thrive in the city, forging a favorable industrial ecosystem that provides a fertile ground for standardization development.
