Targeting young video creators aged between 18 and 40, the competition is soliciting high-quality short films with a pioneering perspective, unique aesthetics, and youthful expressions, offering a boundary-breaking creative platform for young filmmakers.
The event includes three major sections.
The "Taicang Vanguard Film Awards" are accepting submissions of original Chinese-language short films (3-30 minutes) from June 6 to Aug 15. Shortlisted entries will be unveiled on Aug 30, followed by screenings in September and the awards ceremony in October.
Scheduled for July, the "Taicang Vanguard Film Camp" will recruit 12 to 15 creators interested in the Film Awards to travel to Taicang, experiencing local customs and culture while delving into inspiring video-related discussions.
During the camp, the "Taicang Vanguard Film Masterclass" will be held. Master creators will be invited to impart top-tier video creation thinking.
The jury committee comprises four esteemed filmmakers, including Marco Müller, an Italian producer who ever served as president of the Venice International Film Festival and the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and artistic director of the Locarno International Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival.
