"JISU FORTUNE", the first ro-ro ship of Jisu Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Geely Auto, embarked on its maiden voyage from Taicang Port to Europe on May 22. Carrying more than 5,000 Chinese-made vehicles, it will reach countries like the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
This 199.9-meter-long, 38-meter-wide ship, equipped with 7,000 standard vehicle parking spaces, is a new-generation, eco-friendly vessel. It runs on liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel, which helps reduce nitrogen and sulfur oxides emissions while bolstering energy efficiency.
Geely Auto, a long-standing patron of Taicang Port, has utilized the port to export vehicles made in various regions across China, such as Wuhan and Zhejiang, to Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
With the maiden voyage of "JISU FORTUNE", the auto export service of Taicang Port will be further enhanced. Additionally, the port's position as the largest automobile and auto parts export base along the Yangtze River will be further consolidated.
In the first four months of this year, Taicang Port exported 228,900 vehicles by diverse means like ro-ro ships, containers, and flat racks, increasing by 33.76 percent year-on-year.
As a crucial connecting point for the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Taicang Port will continue to support automotive enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region and along the river to venture into the global market.
