Taicang firm redefines NEV charging with mobile 'power banks'

Suzhou LIMU Automotive Technology Co, based in Taicang, a county-level city of Suzhou, has unveiled an innovative mobile charging solution for new energy vehicles (NEVs) — "power banks" for electric cars.

Users simply scan a QR code to request a charge, and a smart charging robot then locates the vehicle, aligns itself, and charges the vehicle rapidly via an automated connector. Once completed, the charging cable will retract automatically.

The robot has a maximum power output of 60 to 80 kilowatts per hour and it can deliver a full charge in 30 to 60 minutes.

From production line setup in 2023 to mass production in 2024, the company has managed to become the market leader in chassis for state-owned electric vehicle mobile "power banks" in less than one year's time.

The charging robot's chassis has become one of the company's flagship products, and the company is able to produce one every 27 minutes, with a monthly output exceeding 1,000 units and an annual output of over 10,000 units.
