Taicang opens arms to foreign investment with new initiatives
The 2025 Taicang (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Event was held along the Huangpu River on Feb 14. The event featured the official announcement of multiple initiatives to make life easier for foreign nationals in Taicang.

Highlights included the unveiling of the Hi Taicang Card (China Rose Card) and the City Honor Card, with the latter to be bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to Taicang's economic and social development.
In the past three years, Taicang has achieved notable success in attracting investment. The number of newly introduced projects has increased by an average of 19 percent annually, and nearly 200 industrial enterprises above a designated size have been added to the city's roster.
Last year, 275 industrial projects worth more than 100 million yuan ($13.73 million) each were introduced, totaling 65.6 billion yuan in investment.
As a vital hub for Sino-German economic cooperation, Taicang has become a preferred destination for German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in China, with a total of over 550 German companies.
