On Nov 17, 2024, the Taicang Sino-German Half Marathon officially kicked off, attracting 12,000 runners worldwide.

This half marathon was Taicang's first sports event with over ten thousand participants, featuring both a half marathon and a fun run. Additionally, there were team competitions for both men and women in the half marathon.

The course showcased the essence of Taicang's cityscape, passing through iconic landmarks such as Citizens Park, Alps Snow Live, Tianjing Lake, and Rothenburg Waterfront Street, capturing natural scenery, exotic charm, and urban landscapes.

The event was designed to emphasize Taicang's unique charm as the "hometown of German enterprises". In addition to standard race supplies provided, participants could enjoy a fusion of Chinese and German culinary offerings. This included delicate and sweet Suzhou-style pastries alongside authentic German sausages and bread.
