During the National Day holiday, Taicang's 17 major tourist attractions and rural tourism villages attracted approximately 704,700 visitors, underscoring the city's unique cultural and tourism allure.

The city's 10 major shopping malls and supermarkets reported estimated total sales of 148 million yuan ($20.8 million), reflecting a 5.6-percent year-on-year increase. The film industry also saw significant activity, with Taicang's 12 cinemas generating over 2.41 million yuan in box office revenue and welcoming more than 53,300 moviegoers. Travel demand was equally strong, with around 387,000 passengers transported.

Ancient towns such as Shaxi and Liuhe attracted numerous tourists eager to experience the charm of Jiangnan water towns, with various unique activities providing a festive atmosphere for visitors.

Sports tourism, in particular, was popular among both locals and tourists this year. Taicang offered a range of trendy sports activities, including skiing, go-karting, and kayaking, which attracted many visitors.
