'Taicang Day' kicks off in Germany
The 16th "Taicang Day" commenced in Hamburg, Germany, on Sept 26, local time, aiming to promote Taicang's business environment to investors from German-speaking regions and advance Sino-German trade and cultural exchanges.

Representatives from over 100 well-known German enterprises participated in the event, engaging in active discussions with the Taicang delegation and Chinese business representatives.
During the event, eight projects were signed, including seven industrial cooperation agreements in high-end testing equipment, digestive enzymes, tightening techniques, and a cross-border e-commerce project for auto parts. Additionally, several Chinese and German enterprises reached agreements on supercar development, new energy, and automotive chassis systems.
Zhai Qian, minister of economic and commercial affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Germany, stated that Taicang perfectly embodies the integration and win-win cooperation between China and Germany.
He noted that with the accelerated development of new quality productive forces in China, there is enormous potential for further cooperation between the two countries in emerging fields, such as technological innovation, green development, clean energy, circular economy, and the digital economy.
Markus Heilig, executive director for international cooperation in the Hamburg government, highlighted that just as Taicang is home to over 500 German companies, Hamburg is proud to host more than 500 Chinese enterprises.
He said Hamburg looks forward to exploring new markets, enhancing technological and innovation capabilities, and establishing long-term partnerships with Taicang.
Michael Schumann, chairman of the board of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, emphasized the enormous potential for cooperation between German enterprises and Taicang in industrial production, the automotive industry, environmental protection technology, and renewable energy.
Xu Huadong, mayor of Taicang, explained that German businesses are particularly attracted to Taicang for three common reasons: its livable, workable, and beautiful natural environment, its comprehensive and optimal business environment, and high cultural compatibility.
Furthermore, the 7th "Sino-German Friendship Cup" International Table Tennis Invitational Tournament, the inauguration of the Taicang Representative Office in Frankfurt, and the Sino-German Enterprise Matchmaking Conference were held in the following days. These events promoted comprehensive cooperation from cultural and sports exchanges to economic and trade interactions between Taicang and Germany.
