Forum held in Taicang to boost Jiangsu-Germany cooperation
On Sept 11, the 2024 Jiangsu-Germany Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Taicang, a county-level city of Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province, aiming to enhance cooperation between Jiangsu and Germany.

It was reported at the conference that with total investments exceeding $6 billion, Taicang is home to over 500 German enterprises, forming industry clusters in key auto parts and industrial machinery. These German enterprises have established collaborations with over 800 local companies, providing intelligent manufacturing solutions for more than 200 enterprises.

The forum also saw the signing of 14 German projects.
Furthermore, a Sino-German dual system vocational education training base for college students was also signed during the event. Taicang will partner with the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern and Shanghai Dianji University to extend dual-system vocational education to the undergraduate level.
Maximilian Butek, the chief representative of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce Shanghai, expressed gratitude for the support provided by Jiangsu and Taicang in developing German companies. He highlighted the significance of Taicang as the "second home" for over 500 German enterprises and a land of opportunity for numerous small and medium-sized German businesses.
Han Xiaodong from the Ministry of Commerce emphasized Taicang's high-quality and comprehensive services, positioning it as a model for cooperation between local government and Germany.
Sun Jin, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, said Jiangsu and Suzhou will work together to bolster economic and trade cooperation between Taicang and Germany, positioning Taicang as a gateway for German partners to gain insights into China.
