On Aug 8, Taicang Rothenburg 19th Oktoberfest commenced with cheers and toasts from domestic and international guests in Taicang, a county-level city of Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

The event spans nine days from Aug 8 to Aug 16, featuring several themed activities such as "Rothenburg Night" and "Sino-German Cultural Night". A market with various international cuisines, arts, and crafts is set along the Rothenburg Waterfront Street.

The annual Oktoberfest is one of Taicang's most representative cultural exchange events. In addition, the city has been hosting various activities such as Sino-German table tennis and football matches, marathons, and Sino-German artist salons for years. The introduction of German bakeries, German-friendly kindergartens, hotels, and restaurants has further enriched the city's German ambiance, offering a feeling of home for German friends.
