Regional president of Novonesis visits Taicang
On Aug 5, Wang Xiangyuan, Party secretary of Taicang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, met with Lensey Chen, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) regional president at Novonesis, a Danish biotechnology company, to discuss business cooperation.

During the meeting, Wang highlighted that Taicang is home to the largest port on the Yangtze River for foreign trade and that it is known as the "home of German enterprises". Wang ensured full support from the local government for Novonesis's investment expansion in Taicang.
Chen introduced the expansion plan for Novonesis's Taicang production base, emphasizing its importance to the company's growth. The plan includes increasing factory capacity, diversifying products, enhancing the brand, implementing automation and digitization, and focusing on environmental protection.
Novonesis, headquartered in Denmark, is a joint venture established this year by Novozymes and Chr. Hansen, both conglomerates offering biosolutions. The headquarters and research center of Novonesis in China are located in Beijing. The company also has research, production, sales, and marketing departments in six cities across the country, with over 1,000 employees.
Suzhou Hongda Group, located in Taicang, is an enzyme producer established by Novozymes in 1994. The company's products are widely utilized in the international biofuel market, as well as in the domestic textile and starch sugar industries. With a total investment of approximately 830 million yuan ($116.43 million), the company generated 530 million yuan in sales revenue in 2023.
