The two-day event was divided into two stages - a team ranking competition and a team relay elimination competition, and included three categories - a 3.6 meter rod crucian carp count competition, a 4.5 meter rod crucian carp weight competition, and a 5.4 meter rod mixed fish weight competition.

The competition venue, the fishing competition training base in Taicang's Shuangfeng Ecological Park, covers an area of 1,500 mu (100 hectares), with a core area of 380 mu.

The base has hosted over 120 national angling elite competitions and has been awarded the title of the National Angling Competition Training Base by the Chinese General Administration of Sport and CAA. It is the fourth in the country and the first in East China to receive the honor.
