Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, has been dedicated to expanding and deepening industrial chains, helping the city attract foreign investments from enterprises seeking to establish a local presence.

Last May, the city saw the establishment of Mecotec Freezing Technology (Taicang) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Mecotec, a leading German player in the refrigeration technology market.

Renowned as a "hidden champion" enterprise, Mecotec specializes in providing high-tech cooling solutions for the pharmaceutical and sports sectors. In the future, Mecotec's production base will be located in Taicang.

"For international trade, communication is crucial. Taicang hosts many German enterprises, facilitating seamless communication," said Ye Shuangming, general manager of Mecotec in Taicang.

Another "hidden champion" from Germany, Laubinger + Rickmann GmbH & Co KG, established in 1972, focuses on designing, manufacturing, and debugging specialized equipment. The company's core business includes ultrasonic testing devices, crack detection equipment, and straightening devices.

Last year, the company set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in Taicang, transferring some of its technology and production operations to the city.

"Taicang's unique geographical advantage, excellent business environment, and high-quality public services led us to choose Taicang," said Andre Hoeping, China regional manager of the company.

He emphasized Taicang's robust innovation foundation and the strong global influence of the company, indicating the company's commitment to further developing and expanding in Taicang.
