The 2024 World Athletics Race Walking Tour Prix 1, which is also the National Race Walking Grand Prix 1 and the Paris Olympic Games Trials (first stop), is set to take place in Taicang on March 3rd and March 9th.

The event holds the prestigious Gold Label from World Athletics and is the sole domestic qualifier for the Paris Olympic Games race walking competition. The competition, featuring multiple categories such as 20 km, 10 km, 5 km, and mixed relay, will include 545 athletes from 10 countries and regions including Italy, Sweden, Australia, and Ecuador.

Kicking off on the morning of March 3 will be men's and women's 20km race walks of the World Athletics Race Walking Tour, along with men's youth 10km race walk and men's junior group A 10km race walk of the National Race Walking Grand Prix 1.

Notable participants include Olympic champions Liu Hong and Yang Jiayu, as well as Qieyang Shijie. The competition will also feature the men's 20km race walk champion from the Tokyo Olympic Games and several foreign athletes who rank in the top 10.
