Dragon elements infuse Taicang with festive spirit
As the Chinese New Year approaches, with 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, Taicang in Suzhou, Jiangsu province is buzzing with dragon-themed decorations.
In major supermarkets, a variety of dragon-themed products are flying off the shelves. These include vibrant red dragon-themed clothing, dragon figurines, red envelopes adorned with dragon motifs, and festive couplets featuring auspicious dragon elements.
In Taicang's Shuangfeng town, which is renowned for its exceptional dragon and lion crafting techniques, dragon dance performances are taking place in various locations, such as the train station, to enhance the New Year atmosphere and bring joy to the community.
Cultural venues like museums, libraries, and art galleries in the city have also embraced the dragon theme. From traditional blue and white porcelain to exhibited paintings, dragon elements are integrated into artistic creations, allowing people to appreciate art while immersing themselves in the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year.
