The Sino-German Life and Science Park, located in the Taicang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Taicang in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has been recognized as an exemplary project for implementing the concept of "Industry's Going Upstairs", which represents an innovative use of industrial land that transfers enterprises' production to high-rise industrial buildings.

Covering a floor area of 117 mu (7.8 hectares) with a construction area of approximately 120,000 square meters, the Sino-German Life and Science Park comprises eight high-standard bio-pharmaceutical GMP workshops and three research and development incubation buildings, according to the construction plan.

Leveraging the existing precision manufacturing base of German-funded enterprises, the park focuses on industries such as biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, and precision medicine, aiming to establish a specialized and high-end platform for research, production and services.

The park's workshop facilities, including floor height, load-bearing capacity, and ventilation systems, were designed to meet the specific needs of medical research, production and experimentation, thereby attracting relevant enterprises.

The park was officially completed in 2023, and comprehensive investment promotion efforts have now commenced, resulting in the signing of contracts with a number of biopharmaceutical companies.

In recent years, the Taicang High-Tech zone has overcome spatial resource constraints, optimized the use of land resources, and actively promoted "Industry's Going Upstairs" for high-quality development, creating more space for industrial development and further enhancing industrial agglomeration.
