Waelzholz Group explores further cooperation in Taicang

Henrik Junius, the managing director of production and information technology at Waelzholz Group, visited the Taicang High-Tech Zone in Taicang, Suzhou, Jiangsu province, on Jan 26.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between Waelzholz and Taicang.

During a meeting with leaders from the Taicang High-Tech Zone, Junius expressed his appreciation for the zone's business-friendly environment. He extended gratitude to the zone's management committee for their continuous support for the development of Waelzholz's Taicang factory.

Mao Yaping, an official of the zone, highlighted that the region currently hosts numerous automotive component manufacturers. She said about 70 percent of components for a complete vehicle can be sourced from suppliers within the zone, providing fertile ground for the development of German manufacturing enterprises.

She also said that the zone will continue supporting business development with a well-established industrial chain and an excellent business environment. She expressed hope that the two parties can expand cooperation in various fields.

Waelzholz New Material Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waelzholz Group, headquartered in Hagen, Germany, is the group's first cold rolling mill in China. It focuses on providing customized cold-rolled strip steel for the Asian market.

The Taicang factory is involved in the research and manufacture of lightweight and environmentally friendly materials for automobiles and produces non-ferrous metal composite materials and new alloy materials.

The factory has become Waelzholz Group’s most important factory in Asia, supplying up to 100,000 metric tons of precision steel annually for the Asian market.
