A delegation led by Wang Xiangyuan, secretary of the CPC Taicang municipal committee, embarked on a visit to Berlin, Germany on January 21, as part of their broader Europe tour.

The objective of the visit is to enhance the city's high-level openness to the world and attract more foreign investment.

One highlight of the Berlin visit is the establishment of the Berlin-Taicang Liaison Office. This office will support Taicang, a city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, in enhancing cultural and economic exchanges with Berlin and other northern regions in Germany such as Brandenburg, Saarland, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

In a pre-inauguration meeting, Wang highlighted that cooperation with Germany has become a distinctive feature of Taicang. Over the past 30 years, the city has become home to nearly 500 German enterprises, earning it the reputation of being the "hometown of German enterprises" in China, Wang said.

Looking ahead, the liaison office will collaborate with multiple locations, including the Frankfurt-Taicang Office, to establish a comprehensive overseas liaison system. The goal is to strengthen connections with the headquarters of German enterprises in Taicang and their upstream and downstream industries and facilitate business-to-business interactions.
