Driving along the Yangtze River in Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, is a popular way to beat the summer heat.
The 38.8-kilometer route consists of four scenic spots – Baimaokou wetland, Taicang-Haimen Car Ferry, Taicang Port and Jiangtan Wetland Park.
Baimaokou wetland
The Baimaokou wetland abounds with large forests and shallows, providing an ideal habitat for rare birds such as Grey-headed Lapwing and herring gulls.
An education base showcasing a variety of fishery products and birds that live in the Yangtze River was also set up in the wetland.

Taicang-Haimen Car Ferry
The Taicang-Haimen Car Ferry offers 25-minute boat rides to Haimen, a district in Nantong, Jiangsu province on the other side of the Yangtze River.

Taicang port area offers a bird's-eye view of Zhenghe Park and Qiputang Wetland Park.
Jiangtan Wetland Park
Cycling or walking in Jiangtan Wetland Park is a great way to relax. Near the park are several charming homestays offering places to camp.
