The 10th Taicang art festival kicked off in Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, on April 22. It will run through November.

The festival is part of the commemorative celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the city's upgraded designation from a county to a city.

The programs staged at the opening ceremony provided a glimpse into Taicang's abundant historical and cultural resources and outstanding economic achievements over the past 30 years.

Six cultural teams and 15 workers were awarded at the ceremony.

Twenty-two activities including an intangible cultural heritage fair, an ancient town tour, and a performance by people dressed in hanfu, or traditional Chinese clothing, will be held during the event.
