Taicang Art Museum in East China's Jiangsu province was opened to the public on Feb 8.
The 16,500-suqare-meter museum, which features the city's classical garden structure, has functional areas for exhibitions, seminars, public education and coffee breaks.
The museum is not only a public cultural venue but also a place to admire the city's painting culture, and will play a critical role in promoting the culture to the world, said a local official.
Five themed painting exhibitions displaying works created by renowned artists like Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong were also launched at the inauguration ceremony.
