Taicang again listed among China’s happiest cities

Taicang in East China's Jiangsu province was listed among Oriental Outlook magazine's 2022 ranking of the happiest cities in China, according to a forum held in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Dec 21.

Other cities that made the list included Wenzhou, Taizhou, Huzhou in Zhejiang province, Suzhou , Changzhou, Wuxi in Jiangsu province, as well as Panzhihua, Yangjiang and Yingkou.

This is the 11th time the city has been listed.

The ranking, jointly compiled by Oriental Outlook and Liaowang Think Tank, has been published for the 16th consecutive year.

The cities are selected for their efforts in improving the well-being of the people and seeking quality development, green development and good governance. The happiness levels are related to local education, employment, income, social welfare, healthcare and living conditions, according to the organizer.
