Taicang, a county-level city administered by Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province, held a promotional meeting to advance its integrated development of port, industries and city on Oct 13. 

Wang Xiangyuan, Party chief of Taicang, said during the event that the city has in recent years been leveraging its port resources to bolster the development of its logistics and trading sectors, and that it is currently home to a national logistics hub. 

He added that port will play a pivotal role in advancing Taicang's high-quality development and the local government will implement a series of measures to build Taicang Port into a world-class one. The measures will include strengthening coordinated development with the Suzhou Free Trade Zone and improving the services of Taicang Port. 

Authorities at the meeting also outlined plans to promote Taicang's integrated development of port, industries and city.
