French software corporation Dassault Systemes SE on Sept 16 opened the Dassault Systemes Taicang Aviation Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center in Taicang – a county-level city administered by Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province.

Dassault Systemes is a global leader in industrial software, with a core position in aerospace, energy and materials and in industrial equipment. The center is Dassault's first intelligent innovation project in Jiangsu province.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Xiangyuan, Party chief of Taicang, said the launch of the center would give a strong boost to the digital transformation of his city and inject strong momentum into the development of an aerospace industry cluster there.

Wang said it was to be hoped that Dassault Systemes would bring more advanced technology and talent to Taicang, provide more intelligent manufacturing system solutions and strengthen cooperation in innovation among businesses in the city.

"Taicang will strive to provide stronger support for the innovation and development of the aerospace industry and provide a first-class business environment," he added.

Samson Khaou, executive vice president Asia-Pacific of Dassault Systemes said his group has more than 40 years of experience in the aerospace industry and it has been driving the digital transformation of the entire aerospace industry.

"The center will provide digital transformation services for small and medium-sized enterprises in Taicang," he added.

"It will enjoy the convenience and support brought by the whole digitalization and intelligence process – from the design end to the manufacturing end – not only in aerospace enterprises, but enterprises in the manufacturing sector".

Based on Dassault's 3DEXPERIENCE platform, there is an innovation center for demonstration and experience, a skills incubation center and a simulation verification center.

As an important strategic emerging industry, aerospace is widely said to play a strong driving role in economic and social development. Taicang is vigorously developing its aerospace sector and has attracted more than 100 support companies in the industry supply chain, with an industrial scale that exceeds 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion).
