Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, has in recent years been stepping up efforts to channel its resources toward areas related to aviation spare parts, nucleus materials and avionics systems.

The city has built three industrial parks which span 2,740 mu (182 hectares) and cooperated with leading enterprises, including Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd and Aviation Industry Corporation of China Ltd.

Earlier this year, three projects related to aviation and aerospace industry started construction, while two companies were opened and agreements to set up 15 related projects were signed.

Twenty projects related to aviation were signed at the 2nd Elites Summit of China Aviation and Aerospace Industry on July 12 in Taicang.

The hi-tech zone of the city has in recent years been striving to upgrade its platforms to attract more aviation enterprises.

The zone is also striving to attract more high-caliber professionals to further integrate talents, innovation and industry. It is currently home to two provincial level talents, nine municipal level talents and 15 city-level talents.

Taicang is presently home to more than 100 aviation companies with a combined annual revenue of over 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion).
