Olive Island, located in the southeast of Shaxi ancient town in Taicang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, will reopen soon.

The island's upgrading will be completed soon, with some scenic spots built on the east side of the island, including a fitness park and a hill park, which will greatly improve the experience of visitors.

The island is currently filled with lawns, shrubberies, flowers, bamboo forests, pavilions and lanes, creating a picturesque scenery. 

People can get a bird's eye view of the ancient town from the island, seniors can walk along the river and kids can play on the hill.

The island is named as such because it is shaped like an olive.
