20 Germany-funded projects to be launched in Taicang

Twenty Germany-funded projects worth 5.68 billion yuan ($880 million) were signed in Taicang, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 25.
The projects involve high-end equipment, new materials for the aviation industry, digital economy, as well as environmental protection.
During the signing ceremony, an agreement on building the China-Germany (Taicang) Green and Low-Carbon Cooperation Park was also signed.
According to this agreement, the Taicang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone will partner with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, an international cooperation service provider, to set up an online group that promotes the sharing of resources and reduction of emissions and costs.

A three-year plan for Taicang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to deepen cooperation with Germany was also announced at the ceremony. The city is aiming to attract more than 80 new German companies within three years, bringing the total number of German firms in the zone to at least 420 by the end of 2023.
