Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou intercity railway
Construction on the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou intercity railway, a major transport hub project of the Yangtze River Delta region, is expected to start within the year.
Starting from Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, the intercity railway will pass through Taicang, a county-level city administered by Suzhou, Taihu New City in Wujiang district, Guangfu ancient town and Taihu Lake national tourism resort in Wuzhong district, Science and Technology Town in Suzhou New District, Sunan Shuofang International Airport in Wuxi, and stopping at Changzhou Benniu International Airport.
The railway, which will be connected with the Suzhou-Dianshanhu-Shanghai intercity railway in the near future, will play a pivotal role in improving and strengthening the railway network of the YRD region.
Suzhou is also planning to kick off construction on four intercity railways in three years, which will span 355.7 kilometers and have a total of 111.84 billion yuan ($17.41 billion) in investment.
