Ruijin Hospital affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine will open a branch in Taicang. The project signing ceremony was held on Feb 25.

The hospital will be located in Loujiang New City and cover an area of 15.3 hectares. It will be built according to the standard of 3A (the highest of China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals) and offer at least 600 in-patient beds in 2025.

The hospital will be managed by Ruijin Hospital, providing high-end medical services and cooperating with Taicang's biomedicine industry.

The city saw the groundbreaking or opening of another 198 projects with a total investment of 81.6 billion yuan ($12.62 billion) in February.
