Germany has emphasized garbage sorting since the beginning of the 20th century and was the first country in the world to implement a garbage classification system.
At present, Germany's domestic waste recycling rate is 65.6 percent, making it the country with the highest level of garbage classification in the world.
Now in Taicang, which is known as the home of German enterprises in China, garbage classification has become a new focus.
The city's urban management bureau has arranged people to guide the garbage classification work, setting up drop-off points for garbage classification and placing assorted bins in every office.
The Household Waste Sorting Leading Group Office of Taicang launched the English and German guides based on the Chinese version of A Guide to Household Waste Sorting and Disposal in Taicang.
