Swift Home Lifts Sweden AB, a Swedish lift company, has set up an office in Taicang, East China's Jiangsu province on Dec 3, according to Taicang Daily.

With a registered investment of $3 million, the company is engaged in producing elevators for home use. The annual production capacity of the new plant is expected to reach 1,500 to 2,400 units which are mainly targeted at customers in the Chinese mainland and some Asian countries.

Due to the efforts by the local government to attract foreign investment, more Swedish companies, including Swift and Camfil, a manufacturer of air filters and clean air solutions, have chosen to open their overseas branch in Taicang.

It took less than 10 days for the Swedish lift maker to decide that it would establish a presence in Taicang following its visit to the city.

Members of the company's management were impressed by the city environment, the comprehensive industrial infrastructure and the favorable services available.

Before they visited the city, the local investment promotion administration also kept in close contact with the investors and providing them with detailed materials.
