A drive motor research and manufacturing project to be developed by Dalian Motor and Drive Technology Co Ltd was signed into effect in Taicang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone on Nov 17.

Dalian Motor and Drive Technology Co Ltd was founded in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province in 2013. In March 2020, the company set up a branch in Taicang.

The company specializes in the manufacturing and sales of drive motors for logistics equipment. Its clients include a number of Chinese express delivery giants such as SF Express and JD Logistics. More than 50 percent of domestic suppliers of logistics equipment use products made by the company.

When speaking of the reasons why the company chose to set up a branch in Taicang, an executive at the company said that they were impressed by the city's sound investment landscape and efficient administrative approval.

Taicang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is home to over 800 foreign-invested companies, including over 330 German companies. Its main industries include automotive parts, equipment manufacturing, trading headquarters, biomedicine and new materials.
