A roadshow aiming to attract more German companies to invest in Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, was held at the Intelligent Industry & Information Technology Exhibition Area of the third China International Import Expo (CIIE), on Nov 6.
Officials from the Taicang Invest gave a detailed presentation on Taicang's investment environment, favorable policies for German companies and cooperation with German companies to business delegates from over 30 German companies.
In 1993, Kern-Libers Group became the first German company to set up operations in Taicang. Over the past 28 years, more than 350 Germany companies have invested in the county-level city, making Taicang home to among the highest concentrations of German companies in the country.
At the event, delegates from three German companies -- Weiss-Votesch, Blickle China and Rhein-Koester -- shared with attendees their current state of development in Taicang.

The China International Import Expo, also known as CIIE, is the world's first import-themed national-level expo and a pioneering event in the history of global trade. The decision to hold the CIIE was made in the pursuit of a new round of high-level opening-up, and is China's major initiative to widen market access to the rest of the world.
The total business exhibition area for the third CIIE is some 30,000 square meters larger than last year.
The business exhibition area for the third CIIE is divided into six sections - food and agricultural products, automobiles, intelligent industry and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, and well as trade in services.
