NWPU Taicang campus holds technology camp for students
The Taicang Yangtze Delta Research Institute of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU) recently held a summer camp that was attended by 40 students from four local middle and high schools.
The summer camp taught students about cutting-edge technologies in the aerospace, artificial intelligence and virtual simulation fields.
During the last few days of the camp, students learned about the principles behind unmanned aerial vehicle simulators and tried their hands at controlling these devices.
"We found that piloting a real plane is very difficult," said a student named Wu Xiangqian. "Controlling the drone is not as easy as we imagined."
The students also learned about using graphical programming to control the drones. Some of them even managed to design programs to make drone piloting easier.
Students also got to learn about 3D printing technology and printed their models that they designed themselves.
On the last day of the camp, the participants learned about assembling and debugging robots, as well as designing programs for them.
