Liuhe town in Taicang, Suzhou is known historically as the starting point for the legendary Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) navigator Zheng He's seven voyages. However, it has recently been bolstering efforts to boost its economy.
In the first half of 2020, the town received 2.08 billion yuan ($301 million) in fixed assets investment and 805 million yuan in industrial investment.
All of its industrial enterprises and service enterprises have resumed their work and production following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year. It was honored as Suzhou's pioneer town and rural modernization demonstration town in 2020.

In the second half of the year, the Liuhe government will focus on 21 projects, with a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan, as well as promote the construction of the Evergrande Cultural Tourism City.
Liuhe has overcome the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and is striving for a better environment in terms of both living and business.
