The "Media Night" festival kicked off at the Suzhou Modern Media Plaza on Aug 15, with Taicang taking the spotlight.

A performance with the theme of "happy life in Taicang" began at 7:00 pm and lasted for one hour. Dragon and lion dances and the traditional music of Jiangnan, the region south of the Yangtze River, were performed during the event.

There were 52 booths that displayed the food and cultural products from Taicang.

Livestreaming promotions were also held to encourage consumption.

Taicang has created a unique nighttime economic brand while a series of themed events have been launched to bolster its night economy. Local authorities have welcomed tourists to enjoy the night festival as well as the charming scenery and convenient transportation of the city.
