The Planning Exhibition Hall of Taicang is a "national science education center for the prevention of earthquakes and other disasters", according to the China Seismological Bureau.

The exhibition hall is located near Tianjing Lake and covers an area of 18,749 square meters. The science exhibition hall for the prevention of earthquakes and other disasters is located on the third floor. It has an area of more than 1,000 square meters.

The hall offers educational exhibition boards, films, and simulation experiences. Special lectures for children are also held from time to time.

Some interactive facilities are available to the public, including a seismograph, earthquake simulators, VR gear, electronic screens, and a seismic demonstration system.

People can learn about seismographs and their inventor, Zhang Heng, and can also experience and learn how to survive an earthquake through experience programs and the use of VR gear. Buildings made of blocks are used to simulate how an earthquake affects buildings.

The exhibition hall is open from Monday to Saturday. ID cards, public health QR codes, and face masks are required to enter.
