The 2020 Taicang-Italian Chamber of Commerce Investment Exchange Meeting was held by the municipal government of Taicang and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China on July 9.

The meeting is part of the 2020 Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneurship Week.

At the meeting, local authorities introduced Taicang's investment environment, science and technology, talent policy, and Taicang's cooperation with Germany.

Attendants discussed how the government can better serve European enterprises in terms of investment support, talent policy, and the education system.

Taicang has always attached great importance to foreign cooperation.

Currently, more than 3000 foreign-funded enterprises are operating in Taicang. In recent years, Taicang has also become an important destination for Italian investment abroad, attracting more than 10 Italian enterprises.

In 2016, Taicang signed a friendly relationship agreement with Macerata in Italy. The two cities have sent more than 20 delegations to carry out recreational and sports activities.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, Taicang organized donations of medical supplies, which laid a solid foundation for further exchange and cooperation between the two cities.

On July 8, the Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau also participated in the Taicang Round Table, where it introduced the major projects intended to facilitate Taicang's integration with Shanghai and announced the establishment of the Taicang Cloud Investment Service Platform.
