Taicang to play big role in Suzhou's opening-up

Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, will play an important role in Suzhou's development, Taicang Daily reported from the Conference on Further Opening-up in Suzhou on Jan 3.

The conference announced 30 policies and measures on expanding the city's opening-up to foreign investment, unveiled the Infographic Guide to Invest in Suzhou, introduced 68.8 square kilometers of lands for investment, and presented a heat map explaining the top industries and destinations to invest in Suzhou.

Six districts in Taicang were included in the heat map for investors engaged in high-end equipment, new material, biological medicine, healthcare, clean energy, the Internet of Vehicles, automobile parts, and aerospace manufacturing.

The conference also recommended seven itineraries for investors to see Taicang's development potential, including the itinerary of Sino-German cooperation, the itinerary of Taicang Port, the itinerary of universities and institutes, the itinerary of cross-border logistics, and the itinerary of countryside and modern agriculture.

During the conference, a ceremony was held to celebrate joint projects between global investors and Suzhou counterparts. A total of 20 of the projects worth 27.45 billion yuan ($3.97 billion) were participated by Taicang-based enterprises or institutes.
