Taicang, a county-level city in Jiangsu province, shared its Sino-German cooperation experience at a round-table conference in Stuttgart, Germany, Dec 12.

The conference was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the friendship between Jiangsu and Baden-Württemberg, and Taicang was invited as a special guest to share its achievements and experiences.

Representatives from Taicang explained the city's successful models in developing Sino-German cooperation projects over the past 25 years, and its German counterparts, including Rhein-Neckar district and Duale Hochschule Baden-Wurttemberg (a vocational university known for ducal education), spoke highly of their Taicang projects.

The Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission and the economic department of Baden-Wurttemberg signed a memorandum of understanding which confirmed Taicang's important role, raised plans for Sino-German cooperation areas, and encouraged the city to build incubation bases in the German state.

To date, Taicang has attracted 324 German companies, 110 of which are from Baden-Wurttemberg, according to official figures.

The convenient traffic conditions, favorable policies, funding support and the livable environment continue to make Taicang a popular place for German companies, said Matthias Mueller, general manager of Taicang German Center, a nonprofit organization that helps German businesses investing overseas.
