Taicang in Jiangsu province recently opened a 24-hour self-service hall for the intelligent review and approval of government affairs, local media reported on Nov 20.

Visitors can either use their identity cards or facial recognition devices to pay their taxes, print their drivers' licenses, obtain business certificates, and check their social credit scores, among 500 other items.

For elderly citizens who have trouble using the self-service system, there will be instructors to guide them through the application procedures.
