The annual Golden Autumn Economic and Trade Month kicked off in Taicang, Jiangsu province on Oct 23. A total of 47 projects worth 37.02 billion yuan ($5.24 billion) were signed at the event.

The city is taking full advantage of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region to develop into a hotspot of scientific innovation and entrepreneurship, a modern logistics center, a beautiful countryside city, and a model for Sino-German cooperation, said Wang Jianguo, mayor of Taicang, at the opening ceremony.

The annual economic and trade month is an important event for attracting investment and pursuing industrial development, especially in emerging sectors like high-end manufacturing, new materials, modern logistics, and biological medicine.
