The Taicang Innovation Center in the city of Frankfurt, Germany was recently inaugurated, local media reported.

A spokesman said the newly-built innovation center would seek cooperation in projects with cutting-edge and innovative technologies and attract more German investment and creative talent for Taicang to contribute to the city's development as a hub for the science and technology innovation industry.

Taicang established the new innovation center in its existing representative office in Frankfurt.

In 2014, Taicang built its German office in Frankfurt with the help of China's Investment Promotion Agency at the Ministry of Commerce.

Officials said that over the past five years, the German office has played a vital and active role in expanding the reputation and influence of Taicang in Germany, encouraging local businesses and institutions to invest in the Chinese city and boosting overall exchanges between the two places.
