Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, secured a total of 29 projects worth 16.6 billion yuan ($1 billion) at an investment promotion activity held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on May 27.

The 29 projects involve new-generation information technology, intelligent equipment, new energy vehicles, e-commerce, logistics and biological medicine.

Shen Mi, Party secretary of Taicang, said at the promotion activity that Taicang is making good use of the national strategies, particularly the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region and the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, to pursue high-quality development.

Shen expressed his hope that more investors and elites from all walks of life will bring their industrial projects and innovative products to Taicang to help the city achieve its development goals.
