MULTIVAC opens R&D base in Taicang

MULTIVAC Group, one of the world leading providers of packaging solutions, plans to establish its first Chinese research and development base in Taicang, a county-level city within Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

The German company inked a cooperation agreement with the city’s Chengxiang town on Feb 14.

A spokersman for the company said at the signing ceremony that after years of development in China, constructing a local R&D base is of great importance for MULTIVAC’s expansion and aftersale service in the country.

He added that the move also demonstrated the company’s confidence in Taicang's investment climate.

MULTIVAC Group is a packaging solutions supplier for food products of all types, life science and healthcare products as well as industrial items. Its has approximately 5,600 employees worldwide and grossed total revenue of 1.1 billion euros ($1.12 billion) in 2018.

Over the past few years, Chengxiang town has focused attracting high quality European and American companies by constructing well-equipped industrial parks. Currently, more than 30 such companies have landed in these industrial parks.
