European country expects further co-op with Taicang in wine industry
Moldova, a southeastern European country, promoted its world-famous wine in Taicang, Jiangsu province on Jan 15, according to local media reports.
Guests from Moldavia introduced the country's investment climate and business opportunities at a promotional conference, aiming to attract local capital.
Taicang has conducted exchanges with Moldova in foreign affairs and tourism since 2015, when both sides reached preliminary cooperation intentions in the wine and cultural tourism industries.
Moldova was one of the five founders of the International Organization of Vine and Wine and has a wine-making history of 5000 years, the world's longest.
In recent year, Moldova has attached increasingly more importance to the Chinese market, which has become its largest wine importer.
As one of the countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt, Moldova is also taking measures to create a more open and favourable climate for foreign investors.
