Construction of the first phase of Skechers China Ltd's logistics center in Taicang, Jiangsu province is expected to complete in September, local media reported on Jan 15.

Skechers USA, Inc, an American lifestyle and performance footwear company, established the Skechers China Ltd in a cooperation with Hong Kong clothing manufacturer Liantai Co in 2007 to start its operation in China.

Ten years later, in order to facilitate its trade in China, the company started constructing the Skechers China Logistics and Sales Center in Taicang.

With an investment of 360 million yuan, the 300 mu (20 hectares) first phase will serve as Skechers China's general warehouse, e-commerce headquarters, distribution center, research and development center and training center.

At present, the company's e-commerce headquarters has moved to Taicang with a sales revenue of 1.7 billion yuan ($250 million) in 2018.
