The 31st Forum of China Machine Tools Industry Development and Operation Situation and Development Tendency Forum in 2019 opened in Suzhou's Taicang on Nov 9.

Co-organized by the China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd (Sinomach) and China National Machine Tool Sales and Technical Service Corporation (CNMTC), the forum focused on both international and domestic economic affairs and analyzed the current developments in the industry.

Taicang, one of the most important manufacturing bases for high-end machine tools in the country, is also a national standardization pilot area for high-end equipment manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing.

Liang Feng, general manager of CNMTC, said at the forum that the manufacturing of machine tools industry should pay more attention to supply-side structural reform, and offering products and services that meet customers' demands.

Wang Jianguo, mayor of Taicang, said Taicang has carried out continuous efforts in new and old kinetic energy conversion and industrial transformation and upgrading. The city will move on to offer a better business environment to increase Taicang's core competitiveness.
